Marvel Distinguished 1911 Hardball Pistol
50 yard – 10 shot accuracy guarantee of 1.5” or less using wadcutter ammo or under 2” with fair to good ball ammo.
Typically we test the hardball gun with wc ammo and function fire the weapon with ball ammo.
Experience has taught me that when one of my pistols shoots below 1.5” at 50 yards, then the ball ammo prints below 1.8” at the same distance. The problem is that good ball ammo seems to be a matter of luck. I have had ball guns shoot sub 1.5” with one ball ammo and only 2” with another ball ammo. Tzz and winchester seem to have done well, but i got tired of hoping that the test ammo was going to be good enough to represent the capabilities of the pistol. Many thousands of wadcutter and ball ammo have been ransom rest tested before coming to this conclusion.

I recommend david sams for a beretta hardball pistol. He has it figured out and although i have built them and do trigger work on
Them, i never developed a passion for the pistol and personally feel that it is out of place in a hardball match.
